Emma Twyford makes rare Pembroke E8 repeat
- Tuesday 11th August 2020
Emma Twyford has repeated James Pearson’s Huntman’s Leap testpiece, Do You Know Where Your Children Are? (E8 6c).
In the midst of a disappointingly bad week of summer weather in Pembroke last week Emma Twyford climbed back onto the hard trad saddle once again with a rare repeat of the James Pearson testpiece.
Emma commented: ‘Not my initial route plan but a good way to get my trad head back into gear for a short window of opportunity. As it turned out it was pretty much the only good conditions with humidity and rain kicking in. Such a good route, the right level of spice with some run out sections and superb technical climbing with big moves!’
Do you Know… is Emma’s first hard trad route post lockdown. Previously she’s repeated both Air Show (F8a+) and Helvetia (F8b+) on Shipwreck Cove on the Gower. Last year Emma made the third, and first female ascent of The Big Bang (F9a) on LPT at the Ormes (click here for that report).
