Jakob Schubert storms Swiss Blocs including a Font 8c+ repeat
- Tuesday 4th February 2025
Jakob Schubert reports multiple ascents on the Swiss blocs including the second ascent of Story of Three Worlds (Font 8C+).
Making two short trips to Switzerland’s fables blocs on either side of the New Year, Jakob Schubert came away with ascents of half a dozen blocs from Font 8B+ to 8C+ including second ascents of Aidan Roberts’ Lion’s Share (Font 8C) as well as Shawn Raboutou’s Story of Three Worlds (Font 8C+).
The highlight blocs of Schubert’s tick list were:
✅ Story of three Worlds (8C+ / V16) - 2nd ascent
✅ Return of the Dreamtime (8C / V15) - 3rd ascent
✅ Vecchio Leone sit (8C+ / V16)
✅ Big Paw (8C / V15)
✅ Lion's Share (8C / V15) - 2nd ascent
✅ Mithril sit (8B+ / V14)
Jakob has released a video of his various sends on YouTube (watch that below) in which he adds an in-depth commentary describing his ascents.
Schubert also includes his thoughts on the grades of the various blocs. Perhaps controversially, Schubert suggests that Dreamtime is Font 8B+, rather than the often given Font 8C, that Return of Dreamtime is one grade harder, so Font 8C and that Story of Three Worlds on the front of the block is a grade harder again – hence Font 8C+.
Commenting on the grade of Story of Three Worlds, Schubert believes that bloc is “almost Font 8C” into The Dagger, itself Font 8B/B+, up which the boulder finishes. Overall, he believes that Story of Three Worlds is worth Font 8C+ and that it’s the second hardest bloc he’s completed after Alphane (Font 9A).

Foot Notes
Following Schubert’s post it has been confirmed that his ascent of Vecchio Leone Sit (Font 8C+) was the fourth ascent.
Lion’s Share was given Font 8C+ by Aidan Roberts; Schubert believes it could be hard Font 8C or easy Font 8C+.
