Climb Rochdale are pleased to announce that they have improved car parking facilities for their customers.
Located just minutes easy walk from the town centre of Rochdale, Climb Rochdale’s car park is convenient and easy to access – too easy in fact and as a result town centre visitors have been parking in the car park and nipping into town and hence using valuable spaces for Climb Rochdale clients.
Well not anymore! Climb Rochdale have brought Creative Parking Solutions in to manage the car parking via the use of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras. The ANPR cameras have been installed to capture vehicle registration numbers as they enter and exit the car park. A spokesperson for Creative Parking Solutions said “Visitors are asked to enter their reg number into the touch screen keypads conveniently located at the centre’s reception area. This will ensure that car parking spaces are being utilised by visitors only and will help improve overall customer experience.”
Creative Parking Solutions manages the parking provisions of leisure centres up and down the country and says ANPR has a positive and immediate effect in monitoring the flow and proper use of parking facilities.
Whilst there is sufficient street parking during the evenings and on Sundays to support the busy rock climbing centre, the management team at Climb Rochdale have grown increasingly concerned that customers may be deterred from visiting the centre, particularly on Saturdays, if there is not enough immediate parking available. The free 18 space car park has been frequently misused by non-customers and the installation of ANPR should stop that.
