Covid spike forces second temporary closure for Awesome Wall, Liverpool
- Thursday 15th October 2020
News from Awesome Walls Liverpool is that they have had to bring-in another temporary closure due to the latest Covid restrictions.
Faced with the news that Liverpool is in a Government Tier Three Area, Dave Douglas has posted the devastating news that, despite follow all the Covid Regulations, he has inevitably had to close his Liverpool wall for the second time in the year.
“It is with great sadness that we must close our doors once again from Wednesday 14th October 2020 for the foreseeable future. We can not speculate on how long this will be, but we are expecting it to be longer than four weeks.” Dave wrote.
Whilst this is the first known climbing wall to re-close its doors during the increasing difficult situation being caused by the so-called “second spike” of the corona pandemic, climbing walls in other areas which are on the verge of being placed into Tier Three could soon be joining Awesome’s Liverpool wall and have to close again.
As Dave said, how long the temporary closure will be for is unknown at this point; he anticipates however that it will be for at least four weeks. For more information on this specific closure and what is happening to memberships etc. click through here.
Meanwhile, Dave is urging all climbers to sign the Petition to have the wall/gym closures during this period challenged. Click here for that petition and to sign it.
