Following a public vote, Shauna Coxsey has placed second in the BT Sport’s Action Woman of the Year Award after an amazing year in which she won two World Cup Bouldering gold medals.
The winner of the award was dressage superstar and double World Champion Charlotte Dujardin. Dujardin, riding Valegro, won gold in the freestyle and special events at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, making her the first British equestrian rider to simultaneously hold Olympic, world, European and World Cup titles.
European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey placed third behind Coxsey. Famously, Pavey won the 10,000m gold just weeks before her 41st birthday.
Updating her FB page after the Award, Shauna said she was "overwhelmed". Congratulations to Shauna on a great year...

The award, which is in its second year, celebrates the 10 most spectacular sporting performances by British female athletes in the past year. Last year’s winner, downhill mountain biking champion Rachel Atherton, presented the trophy to 29-year-old Dujardin during a star-studded ceremony hosted by Clare Balding at BT Sport’s Olympic Park studios this evening.
