Sept 15th; 2015
As of midday on Sept 15th, DMM have issued a revised Product Recall notice related to certain models of DMM carabiners.
DMM say: “It has come to our attention that the locking mechanisms on certain models of DMM carabiners may develop a dysfunction. This has obvious safety implications, and as such we are initiating a recall, subject to user inspection, of all potentially affected carabiners. The safety of the users of DMM equipment is our priority.”
DMM issued the first safety statement late on Friday evening. This is available on the DMM website here:
On Monday Sept 14th, the second statement – the Product Recall – was issued by DMM. This was further revised - the details of the revised recall are contained within the infographic below. The revised Product Recall has also been uploaded onto the DMM website - here.
DMM add: “It is essential that all DMM users are made aware of this, and take action if required. This statement gives inspection criteria, and asks users to withdraw affected units from service, pending further information from DMM.”
DMM are due to issue a third statement today (Tuesday 15th Sept) with details of the returns procedure, and some answers to questions that have been asked.
