Hamish Potokar proves #13 isn’t unlucky for him by ‘sealing the deal’ on The Ace

Hamish Potokar is finishing the year pretty much where he began it – by ticking off a much coverted Peak bloc, The Ace.

Having done The Voyager back in early January, Hamish’s ascent of The Ace - the 13^th ascent of the classic Jerry Moffatt Stanage bloc – provides a rather nice ‘book end’ piece of symmetry to Potokar’s year. It’s clear from his on-line comments that it’s been something of a battle royale; “The 15 seconds of climbing does no justice to the amount of time that I ended up putting in to this; many hours of driving, split tips and roles of tape!”

This brings the number of ascents this year to four; Dave Mason, James Thornton, James Squire and now Hamish Potokar. Hamish has just uploaded a video of himself in action on to Vimeo – see below.
