Russian climbing events suspended or cancelled

The IFSC and the UIAA have confirmed that the scheduled Russian events has been suspended/cancelled in response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine.
IFSC President, Marco Scolaris, held several meetings last week and, acting with the approval of the IFSC Athletes’ Commission, it was decided that the Boulder and Speed World Cups scheduled for April 1st to 3rd in Moscow should be suspended.
During the discussions – which included the Ukrainian Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UMF) – the IFSC President expressed the solidarity of the IFSC and the entire Climbing community with the people of Ukraine during this unprecedented crisis. President Scolaris added that he hoped the conflict in the Ukraine would end quickly and peacefully without any further violence.
An alternative host and venue is now being sought for the suspended event.
Similarly, the UIAA have also confirmed that two ice climbing event scheduled for March in Tyumen and Kirov have been cancelled.
