Rock and Ice are reporting on their website that they have received a news statement from Jonathan Thesenga of Black Diamond Inc. confirming that the extensive search for the two missing climbers has been called off.
Dempster and Adamson were last seen on the north face of the Ogre II on August 22nd. Since then the Ogre II has been hit by continuously stormy conditions. Yesterday (Saturday 3rd) an extensive helicopter search of the intended ascent and descent routes as well as the basin between the Orge 1 and the Orge II mountains failed to identify any trace of the missing climbers. It is understood that Thomas Huber assisted with the search acting as observer in the helicopter search.
The search was ended at the request of the families of the two missing climbers.
