The Mountaineering Council of Scotland will launch two new awards in 2016 to help celebrate excellence in Scottish mountaineering.
The MCofS Award will mark the contribution made by volunteers to Scottish mountaineering whilst the ClimbScotland Award will recognise the achievements of Scotland’s young climbers.
The MCofS is seeking an artist or craftsperson to devise and create the new award trophies, and is reaching out via creativescotland and other creative networks with an exciting tender opportunity.
The organisation is looking for imaginative designs which reflect the adventurous spirit of mountaineering and climbing.
With a closing date of 22 December for submissions, it is expected to narrow down a shortlist in January, with the winning bid to be chosen in February 2016.
The inaugural awards will be open for applications in spring 2016 and announced in September 2016.
