Will Climbing get UK Sport funding for Tokyo?

Later this week climbing athletes like Shauna Coxsey, along with the leading lights in the other new Olympics sports, will find out whether their sport will be funded ahead of the Tokyo Games.

As we reported back in August, click here, a total of seven new sports – including two para sports – were accepted into the 2020 Olympics Games for Tokyo. If the UK purse-holders believe that climbers like World Champion Shauna Coxsey are genuine medal prospects then it’s believed that funding streams will forthcoming.
